Cold Break vs Hot Break Tomato Processing Line | Choose Your Production Method

Custom-Designed Tomato Processing Line – From Farm Receiving to Packaged Product

Not every tomato processing requirement fits a rigid template. Whether you operate a seasonal farm cooperative, a mid-size sauce factory, or a large industrial plant, our tomato processing line is modularly designed to match your exact capacity, end product, and budget.

Three Pre-Engineered Line Configurations

The first configuration is the Tomato Paste and Concentrate Line, which is our most popular option. The process flow includes washing, sorting, crushing, hot break preheating, extraction, concentration adjustable from eight to thirty-eight percent Brix, sterilization, and aseptic bag filling. Output ranges from two thousand to fifty thousand tons of paste per season. This line is best for export-focused paste producers and industrial ingredient suppliers.

The second configuration is the Tomato Sauce and Ketchup Line. Its process flow consists of washing, sorting, crushing, cold break extraction, refining, mixing tank for adding sugar, salt, and spices, homogenization, deaeration, hot filling, sealing, and pasteurization. Output ranges from five hundred to twenty thousand bottles or jars per shift. This line is best for retail sauce brands and restaurant supply companies.

The third configuration is the Tomato Juice and Puree Line. The process flow includes washing, sorting, steam peeling, cutting, cold pressing, enzyme treatment, centrifugal clarification, UHT sterilization, and aseptic filling. Output ranges from one thousand to fifty thousand liters per day. This line is best for beverage factories and organic juice brands.

Why Choose Our Tomato Processing Line Over Competitors

Our multi-effect falling film evaporator uses forty percent less energy compared to standard single-effect systems used by many competitors. Our full PLC control with recipe storage for over twenty products far exceeds the manual or semi-auto operation of conventional lines. Our dual-stage extractor design achieves ninety-two to ninety-five percent tomato yield, whereas standard competitors typically yield only eighty to eighty-five percent. Our programmed CIP return cycle reduces cleaning time to just one hour, saving two to three hours per day compared to conventional lines. For after-sales support, we provide on-site commissioning plus WhatsApp and video support with twenty-four hour response time, while many competitors offer only email support.

Real Customer Case

In Nigeria, we delivered a two hundred tons per day line in 2024. The client wanted tomato paste at twenty-eight percent Brix for the local retail market. Our solution included a special high-sand washing system for local tomato varieties that contain more soil residue, a spare parts hub in Lagos for quick replacements, and local technician training for one full month. Production started in forty-five days and return on investment was achieved in seven months.

Free Feasibility Study

Tell us three things and receive a custom line layout within forty-eight hours: your expected capacity in kilograms per hour or tons per day, your target end product such as paste, sauce, juice, or peeled tomatoes, and your factory floor size in length by width. We also offer second-hand or refurbished line options at forty to sixty percent below new price with a one-year warranty, financing assistance for qualified buyers in developing markets, and a spare parts subscription plan with automatic quarterly shipment of wear parts.

This state-of-the-art tomato paste processing line integrates multiple operations, focusing on the complete tomato processing journey from initial raw material treatment to final product packaging. As a versatile production system, this line efficiently manufactures various tomato-derived products including tomato paste, tomato sauce, and tomato juice, spanning all essential processing stages.
Raw Material Preparation
The system includes comprehensive screening and cleaning components, where a vibrating screen eliminates flawed tomatoes and impurities while a high-pressure bubble cleaning machine with brush rollers thoroughly cleanses surfaces by removing mud, pesticide residues, and unwanted particles. Flexible conveying mechanisms prevent damage to tomato skins, establishing a pristine base for processing.
Crushing and Pulping
Following pretreatment, tomatoes are processed through a spiral crusher in low-temperature settings to retain nutrients and flavor. A double-stage pulping machine separates tomato pulp from peel and seeds, with the first stage eliminating larger impurities and the second stage providing fine pulping for desired consistency.
Concentration and Sterilization
Tomato pulp undergoes concentration in a vacuum concentration tank where excess water is extracted in a low-temperature vacuum environment (60-70°C). Solid content is concentrated between 10% to 30% as per specifications, preserving lycopene and essential nutrients. Concentrated pulp proceeds to tubular sterilizer using rapid high-temperature sterilization (121°C instant sterilization) to eradicate microorganisms while preventing flavor degradation.
Final Product Packaging
Sterilized tomato products are meticulously dispensed into packaging containers through an aseptic filling system maintaining an aseptic environment to prevent secondary contamination. Capping, sealing, labeling, coding, and boxing complete the packaging process, with some lines incorporating metal detection and weight detection systems to eliminate substandard products.
